S2 Ep2: Manifestation process and your subconscious mind

[00:00:00] Welcome to episode two of season two of the So Here For It podcast. I am your host, Amy Mingin, and I am so excited you are here today. This episode is all about manifestation. Oh my goodness me. This is such a hot topic and I think it has been a hot topic for a while. Am I right? Oh my gosh. I think everybody wants to know what the secret to manifestation is because it does seem like that's the magic thread or the magic weave of life.
But I'm here to say today, even if you've been one of these people who thinks that they aren't very good at manifesting, I'm going to teach you how to do it today. And it's probably going to be in a slightly different way because you know, I am like that. I find my own tangible ways of doing things and I want to share it with you. I want to share how I do it because I know for sure that if I'm so here for [00:01:00] manifestation, I know that you guys are too.
So the thing about manifestation is this. You attract what you are. You don't attract what you want.
And I'll say that again. You attract what you are. You don't attract what you want. And even though we go, okay, well, I want, I want to be able to go to that five star resort over in Hawaii and stay there. And I want to be able to have people come and stay with me. And I would really like to be able to buy my mum a house and my kids a car and all of these things, right?
They're all actually really cool things to want. Here is the thing though, a lot of people will only ever get that far. They just write a list or they just have this like wish list. And I call those things wish lists because lots of people don't get enough awareness around things in order to take the, the supreme action that they really need to take in [00:02:00] order to get the things that they really, really want.
So, you've probably heard of this art of intentional action. Have you heard about it? Or have you heard about it being inspired action? And do you know the difference between the two? I want you to consider what aligned action is. So we've got intentional action. So it's what, what are you being intentional about?
If you're about to do an action, are you being intentional or are you being wishy washy? Is this the thing that you've just always done? Or is this an intention of you going, that is the thing that I want and this is the action that I'm intentionally taking to go towards what I want. And are you now the person who keeps taking intentional action each day until you get there?
Because I've worked with thousands of women, lots of men, but thousands of women, right? And when they go into these manifestation modes, [00:03:00] often they're coming back to me and they're like, yeah, well, I did it for a few days. And it didn't, it didn't come true. And I'm like, hang on a minute. Did it take you just a few days to get to where you are?
No, no, it didn't. And if we're speaking about health here, let's talk about it in a health frame, because you can apply it across any aspect of your life. A lot of people who are in business, they will do it in a money frame. A lot of people who are wanting to find love, they'll do it in a relationship frame.
And I want you to consider this. If you continued on your current trajectory, would you get your goals? Have a think about it. Do you even have a goal? Because some people just give up on goals because they think that goals are a load of shit, but they're actually not. Goals set intentions. Goals give you alignment.
You've got to align yourself to the goal, to become the goal. Because what do you get? You get what [00:04:00] you are, you don't get what you want. So how are you currently acting and behaving and having emotions around? Like what is actually happening for you right now? Because if that's not in alignment with your higher self, with your goal that you're going for, then you're not going to get your goal.
Okay, let's circle it back. Let's start at the very beginning because people will say, but I am, I'm doing everything. And I'm, and I'm not getting the thing that I want. I'm like, right. So then when I go over the plan or go over the thing that they said that they were going to do, and they're like, Oh yeah, I'm not really doing that.
Like the women in Catalyst, they are brilliant, by the way. Have you heard about Catalyst? Go back and listen to season one, if you haven't, and also jump through in the link in the show notes. Oh my freaking god. It is the best program ever. Catalyst [00:05:00] changes lives. So the women in Catalyst. The women in Catalyst come in and they think like they have this thing that they think that they just eat the food and the weight releases.
And that's all good. If that's your belief, perfect. But here's the thing, it's not just the food. You're changing all of your micro decisions throughout the day to be in alignment with your highest level of health, because you no longer go and have that random snack in between meals. You no longer go and choose the sweet drink.
You no longer add the honey to your tea, or even the milk to your tea, because you know what your plan is. It's these micro moments, it's these micro truths that you keep showing yourself that build evidence towards your next level self. So I want you to do a little audit for me right in this moment.
Have a think about one particular goal that you're going for right now. And if [00:06:00] you don't have a goal, my suggestion is you think of a goal, think of something very specific. So you can't, I remember in some of the personal development groups that I've led, some people would be like, I want peace. I'm like, cool.
What does that mean to you? So if you're coming up with something like that, I want you to be specific about what that means to you so that you can know when you're actually getting your goal, because peace is a bit of like a change of state, in my world.
And so if you are getting through and you're going, right, well, my goal is, let's say you're a business person. You're like, my goal is to have $20,000 cash in my bank this month. That's a cool goal. That's great. I want you to now come up with three aligned actions that would help you go towards that goal. Because here's something that I notice about the people who are in business, who I coach, most of them who [00:07:00] want more sales, who want more cashflow, who want more clients, are actually forgetting to sell their services.
Like there's something out there, like people think that people just randomly find them on the internet. It doesn't really work that way. The people who are in your current audience want to know what it is they can do to work with you. So you've got to let them know. So that's just that little tidbit there.
The people who are looking for love, where are you currently hanging out? Are you like just sitting at home with your cats or are you just like sitting solo down at the beach? Or are you actually going to places where your favorite people hang out? Like one of my favorite things that I get some of my clients to do who are single is I get them to try something new.
And one of those things that I frequently get them to do, because I think it's one of the funnest and funny activities when you don't know what you're doing, I get them to go salsa dancing. So, I love salsa because I love the music. [00:08:00] I, myself, struggle with the dance because I don't know how to do it.
That's why I mean it's funny. But the people who go, who are single, get to mingle with some other single folk. It doesn't mean that you're going to meet the love of your life straight up, but guess what? You're taking aligned action to put yourself in a room where you might meet someone who might know someone or you might meet someone who's really lovely that takes you to that next step of you being able to figure out what it is that you want in a partner.
Can you see what I mean here? You are getting yourself aligned with that next goal. If you're someone who wants better health, guess what? Get yourself out of bed first thing in the morning, and get your active wear on, and get your shoes on, and take yourself walking. If you have a dog, even better, take the dog for a walk twice a day.
You know what? I think that I've had way more steps since I've had a dog. I was going to say own a dog, but I'm just going to say had a dog because [00:09:00] the dog doesn't come and remind me that he needs walking. But I look at the dog and I'm like, he's been inside all day. Not that he cares, by the way, he's a Cavalier Cross Papillon. So he's this little cute, fluffy guy. And he loves going walking, but he's also very happy to just curl up like a little squirrel underneath his fluffy tail and not tell me that he needs to be walked. But you know what? Both of us love a walk. So we go walking twice a day. And it doesn't necessarily mean that it's like a 10 kilometer walk.
It could be a 10 minute walk. It could be a 40 minute walk, get yourself out and start walking. If that's in alignment with your highest health goal, it is time that you get moving.
Are you catching my drift here? You set your goal and then you start taking action. Now I want you to do your little audit and be like, all right, well, here's my goals. Am I taking aligned action every day? And maybe, some people come out [00:10:00] when we do this goal setting style exercise and they come out and they've got like a whole A4 sheet of journaling and they're like, and I want this and I want this. It's like the inner child gets so excited to be able to say what they want.
But the thing is, I want you to go, all right, well, what is the big goal that would allow all of these other goals to come into existence. Focus on that one because you'll have things that you can do every single day that will put you in alignment with that big goal, and you'll end up getting all those smaller goals on the way.
So that's a hot tip right there. Now, audit yourself. What are you currently doing? What habits are you doing that could be potentially not in alignment with that big goal? What are some of the things that you're doing that are not making you believe that you can have it? What are some of the things that you are doing that are standing in your way of your most positive self?
Now, I know. Humans are [00:11:00] wired for survival, right? So is having goals part of a growth process? Yes. Is having a goal and setting a goal going to come up with some form of feeling uncomfortable? Yes. Don't give up. Don't give up three days later. That's why people think that manifestation doesn't work because they give up.
They actually just stop focusing on it. Now, there's a big difference here between letting go of how the outcome happens versus giving up altogether. Now, I'm sure you've all heard surrender. The word surrender is such an interesting one because I put surrender and rest in a fairly similar category. I have had such resistance to the word surrender in the past.
It was just like, surrender? You might as well be telling me to like, roll over in defeat! Like I'm not going to surrender. I'm going to like show action. I'm going to get [00:12:00] into this. I'm going to be determined. I'm going to keep going. Yes, and are you so focused on and zoomed in on the actions that you're taking that you're losing sight of the big picture because that can happen as well.
Somebody who I used to know, she would say things about manifestation that was so cool and here's one of them. I'm going to share it. Imagine that you have an apple seed and the apple seed grows in the palm of your hand. And imagine as that tree grows it's got a little sprout and then it goes into a little seedling and then it grows into a proper tree and that's growing on your hand.
But imagine if you, every time you notice something changing, you squeezed it, you squeeze that little seed, you squeeze that little sprout, you squeeze that little seedling. Do you think it's going to have space to grow? No, it doesn't have [00:13:00] space to grow because you're trying to control the way that it grows.
So I want you to treat your manifestation process like this. Watch it, and be aware, show action. If it's like a plant, you're watering it each day. You're nurturing it each day. Write about it. Feel the feelings of what it's like to have it. And for crying out loud, keep showing action each day. Because if you are not showing action, then you're just hoping and wishing that something's going to change, but you've not actually changed anything in order for it to change. And so it's just going to stay the same.
Be specific. But most of all, remember what I said last episode about authenticity? Authenticity is you believing your words are truthful. You're saying your most truthful words and you believe them. Make your manifestations like that. If you're putting a [00:14:00] manifestation out there that you don't believe, it ain't going to happen.
So choose a manifestation. Some people need to choose really simple things first, so they can build that self belief, so they can believe themselves, so they can be their authentic selves, so that then they can build a bigger goal. Does that make sense? I think this is where some of the things that people say are taken way out of context.
You know, like people will say, Oh, such and such is an overnight success. No, they're not. It never happens that way. I'm going to go, I'm going to use the word never. I very rarely use absolutes, but it is a never, there is always a lead up to a potential, right? Something just doesn't like spontaneously happen.
People don't spontaneously become famous. People are always working on their skill set, working on their expertise, working on who they're connecting with, working on the action [00:15:00] steps behind the scenes before you ever know who they are. But we just don't get to see that bit. So it seems like people are an overnight success, but this sets people up for unrealistic expectations of how long it actually takes for a manifestation to appear. A manifestation in your body, a manifestation in your mind, a manifestation in your energetics, a manifestation of people, places, situations.
I want you to remember the subconscious mind runs the body. So if you're wanting to manifest something, start repeating it. What I love as a practice, I'm going to show you the process right now. The practice is this, number one, you got to get real with yourself, authentic. Raise your vibration to authenticity.
If you don't know who you are, if you don't know what that is, just start to build it bit by bit, day by day. And the really helpful thing for you to know what's happening inside your subconscious mind is to [00:16:00] bring it to your conscious awareness. Now, some people will find it's helpful to say things out loud.
So if you get a thought, which we have over 70, 000 thoughts a day. So you definitely are getting a thought. When you get a thought, ask, is this mine? And do I believe it? And notice what your body says. Notice what your mind says. If you don't believe it, cool. It wasn't yours. Let it go. Notice what you are doing repetitively every single day, because if you are just repeating things, and I feel like I'm so repetitive saying this, but it is so important that I say this. Keep repeating things, you're going to keep getting the same results. So you want to repeat the things that you really want the results for. Right? Cool. Take that as the advice. All right, so do the thing so you can feel authentic. Now your authentic self, what does she or he believe? What is your authentic self [00:17:00] believe? Because that goal is going to happen.
It is you speaking the words and speaking your own truth, which is you believing your own delusion. And that is what is going to come into your reality. So start to put yourself in the growth zone. There's going to be some uncomfortable bits where you're like, I don't know if I can do this yet. So go do the thing that helps you prove it to yourself that you can.
If you don't know how to ride a bike, what are you going to do? Go and learn and ride a bike. And then all of a sudden, guess what? You've got your goal. You're riding a bike. Every single skill is like this. And if you treat the goals and you treat the manifestation process like riding a bike, it takes a bit of repetition before you find your balance.
It takes a little bit of repetition before you know how to go fast before you know how to put the brakes on before you know how to fall safely. So have a think about this and I [00:18:00] want you to feel into it and I want you to be real. So this first step is all about awareness. Be aware of how you're currently feeling. Be aware of what is the thing that's driving your behaviors. Are those emotions helpful? If not, go back to episode one, change your state, learn how to change your emotional state. So your vibration changes so that then you can manifest something from a higher vibration. And if that means it's something super simple like finding five cents on the ground, beauty, say, thank you.
Sometimes it's as simple as saying thank you. The word thank you is super high vibration. Thank you, slightly different to gratitude, but thank you has such a high vibration. Now every single time you notice something going well for you, I want you to say thank you. This is step two. You ask, you [00:19:00] become aware, you say thank you. You smile, notice the feeling in your heart open as you say thank you. And it might be an outward thank you out there to a person or universally or to nature or whatever it is, but say thank you. And then the next step is to take that next obvious step. Sometimes it's not obvious, I'll be real here. Sometimes it is totally not obvious. So if you're not sure. Trust yourself enough to take a step. Trust yourself to take a step. Now this could be if you're doing health things and you don't know what to do, then my suggestion is you could go have a look at my social media @amymingin on Instagram.
Actually I have a pretty cool TikTok as well, but I'm going to focus on Instagram. You could go have a [00:20:00] look there. You could go have a look at somebody who you align with, with their health and have a look at their habits, have a look at their lifestyle, have a look at what they eat. And maybe one of your steps is like, I'm going to mimic that particular meal.
Like that's an aligned step, isn't it? Great. And then the next step is to actually take another step and to take another step and to take another step. Yes, repetition is helpful. And also, so long as the repetition is in the right direction, which you'll need to go back to step one with awareness. So see how this is an oscillation process.
You're never fully just in action and you're never fully just in awareness. It takes the awareness of both sides in order to manifest. So you're aware for a moment and then you take action and then you take another action and then you become aware again, because you need to double check that you're going in the right direction.[00:21:00]
So years ago, back in 2021, I did a triathlon. I know, it took a lot. It was a lot to train for that. And when I first started doing open water swimming, holy moly, it was so scary. I was so scared. I was dead set certain that jaws was going to come from the depths below me and just swallow me up whole. And no one would see me ever again. I was like, I would get into that water with absolute dread, but bit by bit, I would swim around in Currumbin Creek, like a really big loop. I would do about two kilometers, and I would swim and I would swim and I would swim. And even though I felt scared, I would keep swimming. And what would happen? I learned how to just let myself relax into the water.
I learned how to breathe a little bit better. I learned how after a while [00:22:00] it became so much easier. But the thing about this open water swimming was that it was because I couldn't see the bottom, I needed to look up every now and then. And there's this thing when you swim, like, if you're swimming in a pool, you can just pretty much keep your head down the whole time, right? Unless you're breathing. But when you're swimming in the open water, particularly in a creek where you can't see the bottom and it's quite deep, you need to put your head up about every, like, four or five strokes. It's the same with manifestation. You're not going to just like be swimming out into the middle of the ocean and never looking where you're going.
Take the action, then bring the awareness. Now this is where the greatness comes in. Once you start to adapt, like what I did with my swimming, the subconscious mind is like, Oh, we know what we're doing here. We don't need to set off alarm bells anymore. [00:23:00] We don't need to be in fear. This is the normal way that we do things and all of a sudden our vibration changes.
All of a sudden something starts to work out for us. All of a sudden we start to meet that right person. All of a sudden that situation changes. All of a sudden we're met with opportunity. Now this isn't by coincidence because you have been taking aligned action. You have been intentional. You have been inspired and you've allowed yourself to step into that as well as show awareness.
So this, my friends, this is the manifestation process. I'm not going to tell you to sit there and meditate on it and wish and hope and wish and hope. It's actually in the action. You can wish and hope. It's okay. You can, so long as you take action on the other side of that. I am so all for meditation. I'm a meditation teacher.
If you can get yourself into that calm state every day, absolutely. This will help you access your subconscious mind better than anything. And this is the thing, our physiology doesn't lie. And our physiology is the functioning of our body. It's our somatics. It's our automatic responses. It's the things that our subconscious mind is actually always doing in the background without us ever having to even mention it.
But this is the hack, my friends. You can actually go into your own nervous system, calm it down, reprogram, come out of it, [00:25:00] set your aligned intention, and take action on it. And guess what? This is the secret source to life. This is the secret source to manifestation. And all of this stuff is already available to you absolutely free. Isn't that awesome?
