[00:00:00] Hello and welcome to another episode of the So Here For It podcast. My name is Amy Mingin and welcome. I am so excited to talk to you today all about the subconscious. And how it relates to our body and our mind. There's something about speaking about the subconscious that really, really does it for me.
And I know I've pretty much mentioned it in every single podcast episode, you'll get a slightly different flavor if you go back and listen to previous episodes. And if it is your first time listening to me, thanks for coming. Thanks for being here. Thanks for having me in your ears. And I cannot wait to be sharing more with you as the time goes on.
Now with subconscious reprogramming, the thing is, people think that they have to be super intentional about it all the time, and it's just not true. Things can shift really quickly, so long as you believe it. And whatever you are truly believing is what is playing out right now in your life. And okay, that might feel [00:01:00] quite negative to some of you, and I'm sorry about that. Sorry to be the deliverer of bad news, or it might feel like bad news. But let me say this, no one is coming to save you. It is totally up to you to change your own subconscious beliefs, your patterns, and to have the follow through behaviors so that it actually changes your reality in the 3d world.
Life is more than meditating. Life is more than hustling. Life is about allowing yourself to receive. Well, firstly, it's about being. It's, it's less about the receiving first. It's more about being. Who are you being is about what's going on inside of your body. So you're currently being the current version of yourself, which is different to the version of you this time last year, which is different to the version of you the year before. You are here in the present, now, listening to my voice. And your subconscious mind believes what it believes, until you command it otherwise.
And the thing is, our thoughts are electric. Think of your thoughts as electricity that runs through your [00:02:00] body and it goes through like a radio frequency and it programs every single cell of your body, your cells receive it. So who are you being? Are you being a stressed out monkey running around trying to solve problems for everybody and be everything to everyone and people please?
Or are you someone who's quite calm and collected, takes life as it comes, you know that everything's working out for you and you are enjoying every moment. Like you can be either or. You don't have to be the stressed out monkey running around, right? And I just wonder how often you slow yourself down enough to realize what unconscious patterns are playing out.
I wonder if you notice your own patterns or is it something that you really require somebody else to give you some sort of external feedback on? And it's totally fine. Wherever you're at, you are there. And that is perfect. And now you have some conscious awareness around it, you might be able to bring in some form of a practice so that you can be even more aware of how the patterns play out for you.
So for example, if you have a [00:03:00] pattern that plays out for you in relationships, it's probably the most easy format that it plays out in because you will have a programmed response to how somebody treats you. You'll have a programmed response of what you will say to your child if they misbehave. You'll have a programmed response of, if you can't sleep at nighttime, the sorts of voice that goes through in your head. You'll have a programmed response if something doesn't go your way. You'll have a program response if someone disrespects you. So see how it plays out in relationship.
Now I want you to think about your health. I want you to think about what you say to yourself when you look in the mirror. I want you to think about what you say to yourself if you're in that all or nothing mentality and you go off track. What do you say to yourself? Because these are the subconscious commands that your body is going to follow suit. And as soon as you have this electricity going through the body, from the brain, from the thought pattern, it is reprogramming every single cell of your body with every single command, [00:04:00] every single thought.
Now, how do we change this? We change this by being somebody different. And the way to be somebody different is to change the behavior. You can also change your environment. But most importantly, it's about becoming more magnetic. How do you become magnetic? I hear you say. I'm glad you asked. It's about being more in your heart space.
And I don't know if you've ever sat in a yoga class and the teacher has said, Ommmmm.
And if you're in the space to do that, can you just Om, and can you notice where it reverberates inside your body? Because for me, yes, it's in the throat, but definitely down into my heart. And yes, I have a background in yoga teaching. So it's very, very common for me to Om,, it's very common for me to feel an Om.
I often have chanting going every single morning because it gets me into flow state. It's one of the things that calms my nervous system. So I want you to start to find the things that bring you into your heart space. [00:05:00] What calms you down? It might be breathing. It might be sitting on your yoga mat, not doing anything, but just sitting.
This is the point. The point being, if we only ever react to everything in our lives, we're constantly in that same pattern, same program, same default mode, same electricity. But as soon as we allow ourselves into the heart space, we are becoming somebody new because we are in a calm, peaceful state. We are being more magnetic.
So we are in more of our divine feminine flow. And this actually, this is supported, it doesn't matter your gender, this is supported energetically. The divine feminine is the ultimate receptive tool and she receives. The divine masculine, which is in all of us, it doesn't matter your gender. It is the doing. It is the doing in the aligned way, in a structured way. It provides structure so that we can [00:06:00] flow.
Can you see how both of them are very, very intertwined and so necessary for you to be able to feel really great inside yourself as well as move toward what it is that you want? And can you also see if you go through your life with the constant patterns, with the constant internal dialogue that you normally go with because remember the brain is wired for survival and it's wired toward a negative bias.
So if you've heard the negative words before, this has been taught to you and you've believed it. And it's okay. I don't want anyone to feel bad about that. I just want you to become more empowered and say, Hey, I'm choosing different now. I want you to be able to say, Hey body, here's what I command, I command this.
And you can start saying these things to yourself. Does that mean that miraculously your body is going to change shape? Not necessarily, but what it will mean is you will start to make different actions in your day. When you're in your heart space and you are in more of [00:07:00] this flow state, you're able to make a response rather than a reaction.
You're able to act and believe what you're acting from so that you become somebody new. As opposed to you're reacting and you're keeping because you're forcing and resisting. It's such a different feeling between feeling stressed and moving forward and hustling and overdoing it and probably leading to burnout or feeling super tired by the end of the week and feeling resentful toward everyone around you or the situation that you're in... versus choosing to feel differently on the inside.
Now this, this is a practice. I'm not saying that this is a miraculous wave your wand material. This happens with small steps every single day. It's alignment and it's about you allowing yourself to feel at peace first. Without any of the actions, you have to be at peace first. Find that little bit of peace so that you can start moving forward.
Because without the peace, the [00:08:00] action kind of falls flat. That's where people say they lose motivation. It's because they're only playing out the pattern. You don't actually need motivation when you're in alignment, it just happens because that is who you are. They are the behaviors that you react or respond to.
Can you see that, the two different versions, and it becomes a decision in every single part of your life. So let's circle around to your body. Let's circle around to your health. Let's circle around to your mindset. Let's circle around to your business. Because it's all interrelated and intertwined as you would know.
Particularly if you're listening to this and you're a health practitioner, this is for you. If you're somebody who knows that they have a problem with dopamine, which most people do, there's no shame about it. If you know you have a problem with dopamine and it's showing up in one way or another inside of your life in a painful way or in a pleasure filled way, I want you to start putting some friction in between it.
[00:09:00] Because if you're telling people what to do, you're giving advice for a living, you're helping people change their outcome and they're actually getting change and you're not changing yourself, there is a misalignment. There'll be something inside of you that feels misaligned and there'll be some form of sabotage that will play out at some stage. It could already be doing that.
So instead of utilizing dopamine in that cheaper way, you might be scrolling, you might be eating sweet foods every day, you might be overdoing caffeine. There's so many different ways that it plays out. I just want you to do a quick audit of your life right this minute and figure out like, where are you avoiding emotion? And instead using dopamine to help quell whatever's going on internally. Because what you could actually do instead, the dopamine gives us clues. This is what I want to say. Instead of going toward the dopamine and resisting or avoiding what the emotion is, sit with the emotion, sit with the emotion.
If you're not sure how to do it, then you need to get yourself a therapist or a [00:10:00] coach or a mentor, someone who is very much trained in somatics, who can help you recognize what the sensation is in your body and exactly what to do with it. Because if you continue going the way that you're going, you're going to keep having exactly what you have, or even a little bit less because what's happening, the body is wired toward negativity.
So if you keep going negative, you're just going to keep focusing on negative. And I am all about change. I'm about the small steps every single day to help you to change. So if it means a mindset tweak every single day, do that. What if that inner voice says something to you every time you look in the mirror, and then you change what that inner voice says, and you go, Oh, I'm going to be kind to myself, and I'm going to say this instead.
What if you choose to look really great for work instead of dressing in your daggy clothes. Because I know it's comfortable to put daggy clothes on, but it doesn't serve your higher self. I want you to [00:11:00] start becoming the higher version of yourself. And that means doing something new. That means changing the current trajectory. That means changing the current patterns that play out by default.
And this is how we change our subconscious patterns. It's not just about the thoughts that we think that is step one. It's also about the behaviors that we play out and the feelings that we feel. And those three things together are what program our cells. Those three things together are what dictate exactly what's happening in our life. And how we react or rerespond. So find some ways.
Here's the tangible tips and outcomes right now. Number one, find the way that you can get into flow state. For me, in the morning, I am listening to chanting. I'm doing my breath work. I'm stretching my body. Then I actually go and move my body in some sort of strenuous way, I either go running or I will lift weights. On a rest day, I will walk the dog, or every afternoon I walk the dog anyway, but that's how I do it.
What is it for you? You get to choose. This is the [00:12:00] beauty of it. You find what works well for you. You might journal and then walk later. It's totally fine. Do what gets you into a flow state. And I want you to start noticing when you're at peace, noticing your heart when you're at peace, and then be intentional about where you're going with that peace. Don't just go, Oh, that was nice. And then move on with the default mode throughout the day.
Utilize the peace that you've created for yourself. So what will you do? When I'm at peace, this is what I do. Because you've become a new person and you're reprogramming that new belief. You're reprogramming that new behavior and you're becoming the new person. And then number three, we practice. We practice, practice, practice, and we're kind to ourselves.
This is the most important thing. That inner voice that you have is the most important thing that you could ever focus on in your entire life, because your nervous system believes every single thought in your head. Your unconscious mind is programmed by every single thought in your head. So start shifting it, start changing it, and just watch how your life starts to shift [00:13:00] day by day.
And that is the end. A short and sweet one today. I hope that you enjoyed it. I hope that it's given you a few more tangible things to actually take away. And I hope that you really enjoyed it.
